IMPLEMENTATION PROJECTS
2015 – Present Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS) T-MSIS is a large scale data project in which all Medicaid programs nationally and internationally, that requires monthly data submissions to a federal data repository for quality and analysis review. This project was implemented in two phases. As the lead Product Owner/ Project Manager (PO/PM) I facilitated the implementation of both phases using data analysis, and my knowledge of all internal business areas and their use of the MMIS. The project also involved data governance of local data structures and data mapping of internal data to T-MSIS standards. Successful implementation was based on passing a rigorous data inspection with hundreds of data quality issues, continuous submission and acceptance of the data files. The project implementation was successful, passing all CMS assessments and with oversight, the project continues to meet CMS Assessments.
2016 – Present MS Medicaid Enterprise System Modernization Project (MES) MES is a large scale healthcare system replacement replacing a legacy solution system to an updated Gainwell solution system. The project required extensive knowledge of State and Federal Medicaid rules for member management, provider management, and system processing. It also required knowledge of strategies and needs of the organization to implement a large project. I served as one of the PO/PMs in charge of planning project activities and managing processes required for a successful project implementation. This involved managing the transfer and updating of the previous system’s rules engine. Setting project strategies, project scheduling, and developing project plans. In addition the role required close contact with internal and external clients to accurately define scope of overall project and inform on smaller offshoot projects, manage the data conversion and data storage processing, oversee claims processing gap analysis, and T-MSIS implementation for MES. The project implementation took place over four years and had many roadblocks and setbacks. The project is currently implemented and requires continuous monitoring and internal and external feedback for improved use. PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
