Job Functions:

Works under the general supervision of assigned supervisor.

Assigns, leads, and participates in the work of

employees engaged in cleaning such areas as city streets, interstates, highways and thoroughfares, repairing equipment and maintenance. Provides work direction to various grounds maintenance functions, including mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching, pruning, and spraying chemicals. Trains workers in waste and debris collection and the proper use of equipment and materials in designated area(s). Checks work areas after completion to observe and report quality of work. Performs preventive maintenance, including checking of oil, gasoline, tires, coolant, battery, and general condition of equipment/ tools assigned, such as tractors, mowers, weed eaters, saws, edging tools, etc. Notifies supervisor verbally and/or in writing of repairs and maintenance work needed for buildings and equipment.

Monitors, Resolves and closes 311 complaint tickets by entering pertinent information into the systems.

Enters and maintains data into appropriate systems including adding pictures and other supporting documentation such as property and tax information.

Provides training, work direction, assignment of duties, evaluation of work performance, and discipline for

assigned personnel.

Confers with workers' representatives to resolve grievances.

Prepares monthly activity reports and

completes payroll documents for assigned employees.

Trains and directs assigned personnel of operational and equipment safety.

Currently operates oracle office 365 computer software / Samsung Galaxy Tablet.

Travels to various locations to conduct on-site inspections. Interacts and communicates verbally and in writing with staff, general public, and other departments on a variety of issues and concerns dealing with street maintenance. Assists subordinates with the performance of tasks to achieve completion, when necessary.
