I am a very experienced and well-rounded registered nurse of seventeen years with UPMC. Four of those years were spent working in the Shadyside GI lab position which entailed working in the preop, procedural, and postop areas. I have had great opportunities to work in several di erent departments. However, I am currently in search of new experiences and challenges in the health profession.

WORK EXPERIENCE

UPMC Mercy Medical Detox, Pittsburgh PA-Registered Nurse (August 2017 to August 2026) Duties: responsible for complete care, assessments utilizing the WAS and COWS protocol, and observation of acute medical detox inpatient clients. These duties include but are not limited to electronic charting; medication administration by mouth and/or intravenously; monitoring vital signs every four hours; educating clients and encouraging them to plan for aftercare by attending an inpatient rehab once medically stable and ready for discharge from the detox program; reading all current progress notes from both social work and medical sta ; closely working with and coordinating care with the medical team. UPMC Passavant Acute Rehab Center, Pittsburgh PA- Registered Nurse (November 2015- August 2017)

Duties: responsible for the complete care, assessment, and observation of acute rehab inpatient clients. These duties include but are not limited to electronic charting; medication administration; monitoring vital signs; monitoring lab results; educating clients and providing all pertinent information to the client and the family; reading all current medical sta progress notes, reports, and consultations; following existing and new physician orders; performing accu-checks and treating clients with the appropriate insulin coverage; administering blood transfusions, continuous IV medication infusions, and maintenance fluids; performing head to toe assessments; collaborating and coordinating with all members of the care team regarding client progress, plan of care during the hospital stay, as well as plan after discharge. The care team includes all involved medical sta, clients, and client families.

UPMC Shadyside Hospital GI Lab, Pittsburgh PA –Registered Nurse (April 2011 to October 2015)

Duties: responsible for the care, assessment, and observation of inpatients and outpatients during the preoperative phase when patients arrive at the lab; in the G I procedure room; in the GI Recovery area; as well as in the nursing o ice making pre-call assessments prior to the procedure date. Each area requires di erent nursing skills. The preoperative area involves obtaining a baseline set of vital signs and performing a physical assessment; recording patient information and past medical history; starting IV and fluids for the procedure; and educating the patient about the upcoming procedure and reviewing discharge instructions. Procedural nursing roles involve either operating as the circulator nurse or the scrub nurse. The circulator is responsible for all perioperative documentation, administration of IV sedation medications, and monitoring of the patient. As the scrub nurse I assisted the physician with the procedure and proper operation, care, maintenance, and sterilization of all equipment. Recovery Nurse duties include monitoring patients recovering from procedures and sedation; providing educational materials and information to patient and family; reviewing discharge instructions with outpatients; transferring inpatients back to the hospital unit; and providing a comprehensive report to the inpatient floor nurse caring for that patient. Very often I and the team were called to the ICU equipped with the travel cart for those patients that were more critical. Duties: responsible for the care of patients on the Medical Surgical Cardiology Unit.
