EXPERIENCE
Operations Specialist
United States Navy, USN/May 2017 to June 2024
My rate was Operations Specialist and I started off functioning as a plotter, radiotelephone and Command and Control sound-powered telephone talker and maintain Combat Information Center (CIC) displays of strategic and tactical information. Operate surveillance and altitude radars Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), and associated equipment on ship. I was then put into a LIMDU (Limited Duty) status, therefore I was removed from the ship and started my tour on a shore based command and was assigned to do administrative work. My duties were to receive visitors. answer telephone calls and sort incoming mail, type, organize files and operate modern office equipment such as word processing computers and copying machines, maintaining and entering data into Enlisted Service Records and assisting with personnel transfers, separations and retirements. I continued this assignment for 2 years until my LIMDU status ended. I was then transferred to another naval base in California on board another ship. I went into another LIMDU command shortly after and got transferred to the security department on base of Naval Air station North Island.
I then started working for Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems. My duties were to remotely detect drones and other UAS and then tracking and classifying them before providing the option to disrupt their activity. I was doing this for my last 2 years in the military and then separated at my EAOS in June of 2024.
