SAFETY HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT:

Checking health and Safety measures areas like Excavation work, Scaffolding, drilling works, Cutting and welding and Erection of heavy machineries.

Provide information and control measures about the Heat, Noise, Vibration and Radiation Exposure Controlling measures and methods.

Checking of Safety measures, PPE usage, WORK EQUIPMENT SUITABLILITY, SAFE SYSTEM OF WORKING CONDITION, Safe Working Environment in all areas through PERMIT TO WORK SYSTEM.

Conducting post Incident / accident Investigation and recommended remedies to avoid re-occurrences. Environmental activates.

Conducting awareness classes about NATIONA SAFETY WEEK by ROLE PLAY OF DIFFERENT HAZARDOUS AREAS.

To assess the risks involved in the jobs and confined area of work place. Preparation of Risk Assessment of jobs to circulate in department wise to avoid accidents and create awareness of Safety.

Conducting mock drill on the basis of hazardous analysis from the areas such as Chlorination plant, utilities building, DM plant, Track Hopper Main Control Room, Boiler, Turbine hall, GT Transformer area, Chemical Storages and Switch Yard Cable Tray.

Preparing and maintain the Standard Operating procedures for Safety and Security and follow up

As the Fire coordinator, conduct Fire Classes, Drills for personnel’s and ensure all firefighting equipments are maintained in good conditions.

Checking the Fire Fighting equipments for their validity periods. Ensuring the Fire preventive measures Co-ordination within the network.

Making inspection of Fire Fighting equipments and maintenance of fixed fire fighting installations.

Prevention of fire accidents and incidents inside the plant area. Follow up on all operational incidents.

Submission of reports regarding the FFFI ( Fixed Fire Fighting Installations ) and FDA ( Fire Detection Alarm System ) to various department HOD’s.

Providing service like De-Watering in case of emergency situation to any departmental requirements.

Periodical inspection of hydrants and hose boxes, conducting fire classes and creating awareness of FIRE with demonstration by extinguishers among the employees and labours on the field and in class room through computer projection.

Checking of Water/Foam monitors, Deluge Valve system, Sprinklers systems, Heat and Smoke Detectors and rectifying them by submitting reports to operation and maintenance department and to check firefighting resources provided for fire service use including hydrants and fixed installations.

Ability to train and direct personnel in fire suppression and fire fighting techniques. Ability to speak effectively and pass command at times of Emergencies.

Conducting classes to Fire Personnel’s regarding operating and working Mechanism and Deluge Valve System and Automatic Sprinklers.

To work to help educate members of the building in the risks and hazards of fire.

To deal with emergencies as directed and work effectively and efficiently as a member of a disciplined team.

To liaise and communicate with other emergency personnel at incidents.

To be aware of the risks, possible hazards and water supplies to be found within the fire station area. Work closely with building management in establishing work plans.

Direct and maintain standards required in development of Fire Management plans. Maintain an effective fire detection and radio communication system in building premises.

Make recommendation for equipment modification or new equipment.

Considerable knowledge of Fire Control including prevention, detection, suppression, operations, and equipment necessary for fire fighting.

FIRE SAFETY ACTIVITIES

Handling, carryout maintenance/testing of all types of Fire fighting extinguishers and Fire Fighting equipments.

Responsible for preventive Inspection / Testing of Fire Fighting system through Competent person

Coordination with Engineering/Utility department related to maintenance/operations of Fire Fighting pumps.

Monitoring the water level in water reservoir for the Fire Fighting purpose.

Arranging Fire live demonstration and conducting periodically Fire Fighting Mock drill to check the awareness of employees and Security Staff. Investigating post Industrial Fire Incident and recommended remedies to avoid re-occurrences.

To provide Fire Fighting awareness and FIRST AID FIRE FIGHTING TRAINING among the plant employees from lower level to higher level.
