I was a activity specialist at a youth center in orange ca. My responsibility was being creative, and planning out different activities to do with the youth. Every month would be a different subject or activity for example, this month the subject is cooking, so we break it up into 4 weeks which equals the month. Each week we would do something different within that subject, one week we might pick Italian food, and the next week Mexican, and so on, then throughout that week each day we break up the activities that we would be doing for that subject. One day we will come up with different types of Italian food that we want to make, the next day we will do prepping, the next day maybe make an Italian appetizer, next maybe cook an entrée, and so on. So this is a prime example of what I did as an activity specialist. There are no limited amounts of ideas to the things you can do with all kinds of activities to keep them busy and having fun at the same time learning along the way! Caregiving
