Fund Accounting

Northern Trust is a leading provider of specialized financing and asset management services. We support and maintain their critical path applications used for back office financial accounting.

Fund Accounting (FA) deals with investment accounting, portfolio accounting or securities accounting. NAV – Net Asset Value & HPA – Hedge-fund Partnership Accounting are two important parts of Fund Accounting. Clients/Users are global for example London, US, Australia.

•NAV is a tool to audit, release and disseminate a fund’s NAV to interested parties. The NAV is the per-unit price of fund – the price at which a participant can buy into or sell-out of a fund. It can also calculate the NAV where the accounting system is unable to aggregate funds into a consolidated NAV calculation. HPA is a vended application from Fi-Tek LLC called HedgeTek. This application runs on a desktop and accesses an MS SQL Server 2005 database that runs on an MS Server Platform. HedgeTek perform different tasks such as entering trade information, setting up fund/investor, generating monthly statements. Most of programming is done in FOCUS and reports in WEBFOCUS.
