• Over seventeen years in Office Administration / Medical Reception/ Referral Specialist with almost 5 years in Veterinary Referral and Receptionist experience, includes significant experience in multi- line telephone and computer operations, master scheduling for multiple providers, verifying insurance eligibility and procedure authorization, and account management.
• In Medical clinics, responsible for patient intake and records maintenance (HIPAA compliant), contacting patients for appointment reminders, as well as extensive knowledge of medical terminology, interpreting physician notes / referral orders, and CPT and ICD9 diagnostic coding. Knowledge in insurances to include Trupanion Animal Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, PPOs and private pay insurances.
• Account management includes A/R (posting patient payments and copays, handling billing and collections issues, customer service), charting, scanning records into the electronic EHR program, and requests for medical records from various providers.
• Strong communication skills include ability to interact in a positive and productive manner, listen and network effectively, ask relevant questions, articulate ideas clearly, write concisely, and make compelling and informative oral presentations.
• Computer proficiency in online and PC environments includes data entry and retrieval within a relational medical database, word processing (Word, 50 wpm), spreadsheets, email, and Internet navigation, Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience.
