Keep inventory of tools being sent out to shops and parts being stored for reuse, using the Attics System to monitor process of parts being used or closed out.

Coordinate with the shop floor with calibration with the right tools at the right time.

Advise the tool room supervisor and attendants of regulatory requirements pertaining to requisition control and disposal of consumables.

Coordinate with various shops throughout the hangar to note which tools require replacement or modification.

Fill orders as needed for shops.

Examine recurring patterns and expand trends of stock discrepancies and monitor corrections of records to see what needs to be ordered for tool room.

Establish and implement recommendations as to movement of tools and consumables for better utilization.

Coordinate all new and replacement slings for weight test through our hangar 45 tool room special process.

Develop, plan, coordinate and implement and control our automated ordering and inventory control system of both consumable and non-consumable items and tools/stock/equipment related to the tool room functions.

Coordinate the activity of the team and account for all tool room related property in hangar 45.

Ensure adequate and effective programs are in place to satisfy customer needs for requisitions,

pending orders, reports of discrepancies, excess status on orders and tool room property

control.

Develop and utilize techniques to assess and apply and tool room accountability in hangar

45.

Laser parts to be issued for use to keep data system inventory.

Recommends substitution when supply items are not available.

Ensure that the items received are properly stored in assigned locations.

Receive a wide variety of supplies and specialized items requiring special handling.

Determine quantities required and timely stock replenishment.

Determine stock replenishment levels for centrally controlled consumable tools and supplies and other material within funding limitations.

Ensure that tools and equipment are maintained in good condition by performing visual and operating checks, taking measurements with such devices as calipers, and receiving reports from users on the nature and extent of damage to tools and equipment.

Replenish consumable tools and equipment, such as safety glasses, ear plugs, knee pads, Tyvex suits, etc. as required.

Complete preventative maintenance inspections and servicing of each dispatchable tool kit.

Conduct inventories daily, upon check out and check in of issued tool kits, and periodic semi-annual inventories. Identify tools damaged or worn during use and orders replacements.

Compile records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, stored, and issued.

Determine methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering

such factors as temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading

capacities, space available, and convenience of handling items.

Set up and maintain storage locations.

Determine inventory and storage management procedures. Possess knowledge of the kinds of tools, parts, and equipment on hand and how to locate them, and having the ability to identify and issue specific items requested by using personnel.

Identify user’s tools and equipment requirements.

Receive, store, issue, sign out and check in various tools, equipment, consumable shop

supplies to and from assigned aircraft mechanics.

Maintain assigned tools in a clean and serviceable condition,

conduct periodic maintenance and servicing of assigned tool kits and aerospace ground

equipment and to manage the Division’s Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment

(TMDE) account determining when tools and equipment should be routed to appropriate

shops for test, repairs, or calibration.
