For whom it may concern,

Thank you for the opportunity to apply for the part-time position in accounting. I was advised to give you a little information about my other experience and an idea of the hours I would be available to work.

As mentioned in my resume above, I’ve spent a lot of the last 20 years in a variety of positions, including the care of my mother. I wanted to mention that before that time, when my father was alive, I spent several years working in his home office for his concrete contractor company, A&D Construction. My duties consisted of entering labor and material to generate invoices for customers and payments to vendors; calling on account receivables; and filling out AIA forms for various construction companies. I entered payroll hours for employees and submitted payroll taxes. Our main invoicing software was Quick Books and Microsoft Office. I also have some experience with Workman comp claims.

I recently suffered a heart attack and thankfully my heart was damaged very little, but I am enrolled in cardiac rehab so that will be a factor in my preferred hours. I am open to anything, but will need to coordinate my schedule with the rehab. I currently see them on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, so thought that I could either work full days on Monday, and Wednesday, and half day on Friday. Or working every day for a few hours, perhaps 9am – 2pm. I believe working every other day would facilitate my cardiac healing, but I want to work, so will work whatever is needed.

Thank you again for the opportunity,

Stephanie VanMeter
