Maintenance Mechanic
Fix and repair machines by trouble shooting to replacing parts. Preventive maintenance from replacing rod bearings, shaft gears, to replacing take-up rolls, replacing motor bearings, pot tops and bottoms, cord regulators, to replacing yarn tensioners. Rebuild capstans by replacing clutches, gear drives, bearings, tension springs aa well as rebuilding magnetic clutches. Rebuild cord regulators by removing and replacing worn bearings by use of hand tools, impact wrenches, and a press. Previous job was Packange Hanging which consisted of hanging packages of yarn weighing in excess of 35 to 55 lbs by use of a stand-up lift and a hand-held splicer. Normally hanging around 20 to 30,000 lbs of yarn a day and train new employees as needed. Transport materials from the warehouse to the work area as needed, remove full boxes of empty tubes and left-over pieces as needed and replace with an empty box Clean up the back wall you separate good pieces from bad so good pieces can be reused and remove bad. Weft operator was responsible for creeling machines with packages of yarn, drawing in front beams of yarn by means of needles, and splice in back beams. Made a woven fabric by yarns being woven together. Removed rolls of material from machine, wrapped in plastic, and taken to scales. Take rolls of material place on scales, get weight, record in computer, print out labels and place on individual rolls, then transport to the warehouse and place in correct staging by means of a pole truck/forklift. Once placed in staging would scan labels and staging area to show location placed.

Operate and load numerous reactors for different products. Load product into tankers, drums, and totes as well as unloading. Work with various chemicals such as PMA, IPA, MEK, NASH, TBAB, NASH, Chlorapropal, Potassium Carbonate, Sulfur, 25% and 50% Caustic, 50% peroxide, and Sodium. Load certain chemicals into reactor to make product by hand or by air pumps and mix at different temperatures for each chemical to make product and transfer to other reactors to separate product. Use overhead cranes to transfer product from ground level to upper levels to load into reactors. Transport product to and from warehouse in totes, drums, and super sacks by forklift.
Did minor maintenance work such as opening vessels and changing out sight glasses or flanges to prevent chemicals from leaking.

Service Truck driver/operator
Drove the service truck to and from job sights transporting crew to sights as well. Did preventive maintenance on equipment such as checking oil levels, hydraulic fluid levels, water, and filling equipment with diesel fuel. Also ran a nine wheel to help smooth surface of asphalt as well as shoveling and raking asphalt when and where needed. Upon returning to the shop would have to fill up diesel in the truck as well as the tank for the equipment, water in the 500 gallon water tank on the back of the truck, propane tanks had to be filled, and the hydraulic and oil cans had to be filled.

Set-up and operated rough straightner to straighten unfinished bar. Also packed out finished product which consisted of getting lengths on finished bar as well as using micrometers to measure bars to check for correct size and to do the paper work to complete out the order. Straightened steel bars such as nickel and stainless steel.
Cut steel bars to correct length sometimes to within .002 tolerances.
Burnisher would straighten bars as well as putting a smooth surface on bars to be polished on polisher or ground down on center less grinder. These bars had to be kept in tolerances as low as +/- .001.
Also worked with maintenance helping make adjustments on machines and wiring up proximity switches and adjusting sensitivity.
Also packaged bars by banding, weighing, and sometimes packaging into a wooden box.
