Accounts Payable Clerk (05/2024 – 02/2026)
Town of Homer (400 E. Main St. Homer, LA 71040)
Worked as accounts payable clerk for the town of Homer. My duties included receiving all invoices for the town, separating them by fund, which we had nine funds. I would then enter them into QuickBooks under their respective funds, then print out the A/P Aging Reports for each fund. Twice a month, I would sit down with our Fiscal Administrator and go over the invoices fund by fund. He would sign off on each invoice to pay, then I would take all invoices, pull checks for each fund and print each bill to be paid. Next I would get the two signatures per check that were required to mail the payments out, after that, I made copies of all signed checks and attached the copies to their respective invoices and would prepare the original checks for the mail. I would then stamp each one and mail out in a timely manner. I also worked closely with the vendors for anything they needed or any issues that may rise up. I answered multiline phones, worked with QuickBooks, Microsoft 365, fluent with computers and calculators.

My duties included filing paperwork, answering multiline phones, paid bills and made monthly deposits for four different entities, that George owned, as well as preparing a general ledger to produce financials for those entities. Processed tax returns for business and personal clients. Transcribed letters for George as needed. Uploaded documents to the BP portal for BP claims. Also did any other basic accounting duties asked of me. Used Microsoft Word and Excel daily, also used programs such as Easy Act, QuickBooks, and Lacerte.
