Work History

Current role as Systems Support Engineer in Customer Service at Oracle Inc. Worked in San Diego area from 7/1/2010 to present. Work experience at Oracle is 16 years. My previous employer was Sun Microsystems 10 years as Systems/Hardware Engineer and project management role in customer service end user environment, supporting both pre/post sales solutions for customer base in San Diego from 7/1/2000 to 7/1/2010.

Roles included hardware and software support for midrange through high end Unix, Linux and Windows based platforms. Installed, serviced and maintained customer/end-user equipment while offering customer support in 7/24 environment.

In-depth knowledge of network and switching devices, OS install and configuration, storage management and associated peripheral devices all in test, development and production environments. Performed periodic patching updates on all above equipment. Performed extensive troubleshooting of hardware/software products using various hardware devices and software applications to resolve minor to complex issues. Would also mentor/train junior level engineers/technicians.

Involved with 7/24 oncall and standby rotations for both hardware and software assistance in remote and onsite settings for customer support.

Supported OCI cloud data centers for Oracle at various locations throughout the US. Roles included build out of infrastructure on through the support/repair of production equipment in data center environments both remote and onsite.
