Project: Photoelectrocatalytic degradation of aqueous toluene using TiO NT’s-PbO electrodes and magnetite-carbon-chitosan counter electrode Successfully synthesized lead-doped titanium dioxide nanotubes for the removal of toluene, a harmful environmental contaminant, from water. Synthesized Magnetite-chitosan-carbon composite to enhance the photoelectrocatalytic degradation of toluene. Synthesized and characterized nanomaterials using SEM, EDS, XRD, and electrochemical techniques. CNyN - UNAM Research Intern @ UNAM (Summer of 2024, May 22nd - July 19th) Supervisor: Dr. Sergio Aguila Puentes Project 1
Title: Molecular modeling of proteins applied to immunotherapy Constructed recombinant plasmids for vNAR antibody expression targeting the mutated EGFRvIII receptor, optimizing bacterial expression systems and purification methods.
Utilized homology modeling to develop a validated 3D structure of the vNAR antibody, ensuring accuracy through Ramachandran plot analysis. Refined the antibody's structure using molecular dynamics simulations, enhancing stability and specific interactions with the EGFRvIII receptor. Project 2
Title: Synthesis of nanogels for transport of bioactive substances Synthesized gelatin-core, polyethylene glycol-shell nanogels via surfactant-free emulsion polymerization, followed by purification through dialysis.
