Policy Development Expertise: At Uganda Investment Authority, I was instrumental in handling operations within the Investment Promotions Division, where I developed strategies to attract and retain investors, including those various sectors and their respective counterparties. My work involved carrying out sector diagnostics on these various sectors like mining, agriculture, tourism, science & technology manufacturing and transportation, including environmental matters, working hand and glove with the legal department. This experience honed my ability to formulate policies that balance economic growth with sustainability, particularly in industries with significant environmental impacts. External Engagement: I engaged with both public and private sectors to address environmental concerns and promote sustainable investment practices in these sectors and their respective counterparties. My role required me to engage incoming investors, and understand and interpret the investment outlook concerning the investment outlook in Uganda, ensuring that environmental considerations were integrated into investment decisions. Representing Uganda Investment Authority in the Presidential Investor Roundtable Meetings, which allowed me to advocate for policies that aligned with sustainable development goals and addressed the unique challenges of these various sectors.

Impact Assessment and Strategic Advising: My tenure at Uganda Investment Authority involved extensive market analysis and strategic advising. I classified the investor database, targeted potential investors, and followed up on their needs, ensuring that their investments adhered to environmental regulations. This strategic approach helped facilitate investments that were not only economically viable but also environmentally sustainable, emphasising the importance of compliance and best practices in high-impact industries like oil and gas. Compliance Officer, Diamond Trust Bank HQ, Kampala Uganda 2023-24 During my tenure at Diamond Trust Bank, I was entrusted with the critical responsibilities of ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and enhancing the bank’s risk management framework with a team. I actively managed the Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Know Your Customer (KYC) functions, verifying the accuracy and completeness of customer data to meet both local regulatory and group-level expectations. My role also extended to conducting Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk customers, which included Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), motor vehicle dealers, and Forex Bureaus. This ensured that the bank's customer base adhered to stringent compliance standards, mitigating potential risks. I worked diligently to streamline Turnaround Times (TATs) for various compliance processes, all while maintaining impeccable quality control and assurance results, which were in line with both local and group expectations. I also played a pivotal role in implementing Countering the Financing of Terrorism
(CFT) policies, ensuring that all connected parties adhered to strict anti-money laundering standards. Additionally, I helped design and execute Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) modules for bank employees, fostering a culture of integrity within the institution.
Part of my responsibilities involved identifying and reporting any suspicious activities through Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs), ensuring that all transactions and their connected parties were closely monitored for compliance. This holistic approach to AML compliance reinforced the bank's commitment to regulatory adherence and reduced the risks of financial crimes.
