-Putting together a spreadsheet with working formulas using Microsoft Excel for a group project at ODU.
- Explaining/Analyzing statistics using Power BI to other coworkers which led to increased sales over time. WORK EXPERIENCE
Data Analyst Projects (Excel), May 2019 to Present In 2019 I organized a group project spreadsheet with working formulas for a school assignment. Several students as well as my professor recommended I investigate Data Analytics as a career path. At the time I was doing it as a hobby and unaware there was a job title associated with it.
In 2023, I showed the superintendent of the IT department my projects and she also recommended I show that to future employers for what I want to do.
Marketing Analysis (Power BI) May 2025- April 2026 I spent my downtime while working at Verizon looking at the data in Power BI. I became more familiar with how the statistics related to our marketing goals. Though my job at the time was a sales representative, I was interested in analyzing the data behind what we were doing. I’ve always seen data analytics as the answer to “why” situations are occurring. So, I explained these numbers to my coworkers, and it improved out results even when customer traffic was slow. I also am currently taking a course on Power BI to sharpen my skills online. Independent IT contractor – March 2026 to present
I’m currently in the process of setting up a local church’s livestream. This includes buying any cables that are needed, troubleshooting the Wi-Fi, and enabling the ministry to broadcast on multiple platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube as well as others. The project also involves some knowledge I learned in college like grounding wires properly for the audio being received during the stream. I greatly appreciate being appointed as the head of the IT department in this church and trusted to take on this assignment.
