Project Description:
Application development and maintenance support for Crew system which include primary services such as crew scheduling system, crew member web portal, crew line bidding service, crew member reservation service, crew legality service and other supporting services which are essential for day-to-day operations of Southwest Airlines Crew (Flight Attendants and Pilots).
These services are divided into two sections as RTF – required to fly and RTO – required to operate. CSS (crew scheduling services) worked on several micro services, which were for managing
Crew System is the Crew tracking system used in daily operations to assign Crew Members to flights in accordance with applicable federal regulations, contractual provisions, company policy and procedures.
The application is used by Crew Schedulers to do operations like accessing and managing Crew member’s schedule managing the Pilot assignments, book reservation for crew members, monitor legalities and adjust the schedules accordingly.
Two departments use CSS:
– Flight Ops (FO): This department manages assignments of Pilots.
– Cabin Services-Inflight (IF): This department manages assignments of Flight Attendants
– Both departments are comprised of Schedulers, Planners, Training and Payroll who use CSS for their day-to-day business functions.
