Field Technician
Roosevelt Resources-Plains, TX
December 2024 to Present
I worked as a field technician/lease operator for Roosevelt Resources at the RR Googins and Brennan lease in Plains, Texas. Responsibilities included, but were not limited to:
• General servicing and maintenance of field and tank battery equipment and automation integrations.
• Compressor maintenance. Most of the wells on this lease have very low fluid levels, with some intake pressures as low as 41Psi. Because of this, gas expansion downhole is at an extreme rate, causing unavoidable gaslock in the ESP stages, preventing lift, and breaking shafts and couplings. To remedy this, compressors were installed on each well to remove the gas from the annulus, keeping the casing pressure at, or below, zero Psi. The compressors were vital to the ESP’s operation, and I was responsible for their servicing, troubleshooting, and pressure monitoring.
• Chemical analysis and implementation to reduce OIW and WIO emulsions, paraffin precipitation, iron and scale presence, etc.
• Production management and records, using a combination of Excel and SCADA automation. A few wells had VX spectra three phase flow meters, which I would service and maintain, but most relied on Magmeters, TotalFlos, and oil tank sticks.
• Contracting of vendors for roustabouts, pump/vac trucks, pulling rigs, frac, acid jobs, and automation, when necessary. In conjunction with the contracted foreman, I supervised these jobs to ensure things like proper installation of lines and equipment, and following of the pump schedule from either myself, the superintendent, or the engineer.
