Responsible for all EH&S programs & Work Comp for 1,200 Emps at 3 sites. Set 2M hr Lost Time record & led facility to 5 yr VPP recert - 2nd largest VPP employer in Region 7. Oversight of wastewater & cleaning treatment & 3 Safety committees. Three sites plus R&D & Corporate offices. 20 monitoring wells for soil remediation.

Gold’n Plump Poultry St. Cloud, MN EH&S Mgr 2006-07

Responsible for all health, safety & Work Comp programs for 1000+ Emps @ multiple locations (Slaughter/Packing, Feed Mill, Hatchery; Waste Water, Corp. offices); cut Recordable Rate in half. 2 Safety committees. Radiation compliance with MN OSHA. Record of 1M hrs without a L/T injury.

Skyjack Mfg. (scissor-lifts) Emmetsburg, IA EH&S Mgr 2004-06 Responsible for all safety & environmental programs including permitted paint/weld exhausts. Led plant to ISO14001 certification as Lead Auditor. Set L/T record.

Tama Beef Packing Tama, IA EH&S & Security Mgr 1999-04 START-UP of a 300+ employee beef kill/processing including ALL Loss Control, Safety, Work Comp, Environmental (Anhydrous, underground tanks, water/wastewater treatment, etc) & 24/7 Security. Worked with USDA, EPA & vendors. Supervised all Security employees and acted as Industrial Nurse. Reduced Injury Rate well below predecessor occupants. Handled Anhydrous & Chlorine leaks. Worked thru Chap 7 bankruptcy as sole employee our final month.

Iowa Mold Tooling (crane/truck body mfg.) Garner, IA EH&S Mgr 1996-99

Responsible for all Safety Training, Reporting, Research & Compliance. Also was Hazmat & Recycling Coordinator & Maintenance Janitor Supervisor. 300 Emps (Teamsters). Provided SARA plan & permits for paint & welding fumes and laser cutter. Reduced Incident Rate 50% & L/T hours by 75% 1st yr; L/T record went from 10 to 100+ days.

City of Garner Garner, IA City Administrator 1990-96 City’s 1st Administrator Responsible for 12 F/T and many P/T Emps, 10 vehicles & $2M+ budget; bonded. Coordinated 4 yrs Federal Housing Rehab & grant-writing for Area Education Center. Acted as City’s insurance agent (ICAP). Worked with Law Enforcement, FEMA (2 disasters), IDED, DOT, etc. Brought in $4M MN plant, Hardees, Army Reserve Center, new rail crossings & Industrial Park.

EDUCATION: University of Iowa BBA – Mgt. & Industrial. Relations, Minor: Small Business Mgt. 3.4 GPA in grad school; within 3 hrs of M.A. in Mgt. Also FEMA Disaster Preparedness grad.

Married 40 yrs to an RN with 2 adult children so free to travel. Love outdoors!
