PARK IN PLAY-Sachse, TX July 2017 to March 2020
· I purchased Park in Play in 2018 from the original owner who was moving away. It was Sachse’s first and only indoor play space. We had themed cottages where children use their imagination and learned to socialize with other kids as well as learn to share. I’ve even had some learn how to walk using our toys. We offered monthly memberships, I implemented a reward program, offered discounts on special occasions, and always gave a discount to our first responders, veterans, teachers as well as sibling discounts. We offered extremely competitive birthday packages, but what set us aside from the other play places, I made sure that the parents were able to enjoy the party, I would have the party already set up when they arrived and then I would take down all the decorations after each party at no charge. We were a “NO-SHOE” facility, and I was constantly disinfecting the toys as well as keeping the facility immaculate. As the new owner, I immediately knew I needed to make changes to improve the business and make it my own. I added new play areas, new toys, an imagination station, sensory area, breastfeeding areas where moms can still see their child(ren). I redid the floor plan so that no matter where you are sitting (which was also upgraded) you would always be able to have an eye on your child and not worry. I created a “DAD cave” with several tv’s for football games, or other shows of their choice. There were other tv’s on that were kid-friendly, but not so entertaining that it took away from their experience. I updated the restrooms and started using chemical-free products. I started weekly story-time and other “themed” days. We even had the tooth fairy come one day! I created my own app so the families could keep up with the upcoming events and keep track of their rewards. I redesigned the logo and website and created a new computer database to keep track of everyone who came to the business.
