I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the position of Optometrist for your practice in Florida. As a recent graduate, Board Certified, Florida Licensed Optometrist who earned a Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University with High Honor Distinction, I am eager to leverage my strong academic foundation and practical experience to contribute to your team. I have extensive training in full scope optometry, managing myopia progression, complex ocular diseases, dry eye, and binocular vision disorders and I am passionate about improving patients’ quality of life through exceptional vision care.
During my clinical rotations, I gained hands on experience in all aspects of Optometry. I consistently achieved a high pass rate in complex contact lens fittings and became proficient at interpreting results using ophthalmic equipment such as the OCT, Humphrey visual field and fundus photos. I performed detailed refractions for a diverse patient population and actively helped to identify and refer hundreds of individuals for necessary care.
During my time as an Optometry student, I earned High Academic achievement as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society for all four years of optometry school and received multiple honors for excellence in patient care and academic achievement. I earned a placement on the Chancellor’s list and Dean’s Honor List achieving above 90% average throughout Optometry school and maintained the Dean’s Honor List throughout my undergraduate studies as well as High School. My strong work ethic and performance in challenging environments are reflected in the recognition received throughout my education. During my clinical training, I completed internship rotations at the Eye Care Institute at NSU, Eye Centers of South Florida, and Correct Vision Laser, earning honors for my performance.
As an undergraduate student, I started a non-profit charity called Soles4Souls, London, to provide shoes to the homeless and was President of the Pre-optometry Society. Throughout Optometry school, I was involved in professional organizations, including the American Optometric Student Association, where I also served on the Board and am currently an active member of the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry. In my free time, I am an avid sports fan and love to follow my favorite teams, enjoy travelling and have a passion for meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
