Gained conflict resolution skills as I would mediate roommate disagreements and challenges. Grew in my communication skills as I would meet with my Resident Coordinator and Grad Assistant to discuss everything in relation to my job. Learned how to work with others firsthand and to be a point of contact when needed. Would work on duty shifts that ranged from 5pm - 8am on weeknights and 5pm - 5pm on weekends, which allowed me to be on call/available for any residents in need. Learned how to manage and balance my time to still succeed in school while also working.

Learned the importance of paying attention to detail as I had to make sure the only residents who entered the building were ones who had their building sticker on their one card. Learned how to check in visitors who did not live in the building and developed relationships with the residnets I saw on a day-to-day basis.

Grew in personal relationship skills by making connections with people around me. Reached out to people on campus and learned how to study the Bible with others. Worked with a team of 3 other interns and the ministry leaders to develop strong personal, spiritual, and leadership growth while planning events for the ministry and attending intern / church staff meetings.

Camp Swamp Summer Full Time Counselor
Summer 2023 / 2024
Worked at a summer camp called “Camp Swamp” for a total of 7 weeks during the summer of 2023 and 2024, and also came back during the New Years Eve retreat in December of 2023 and 2024 to counsel. Planned weekly Bible lessons and made the chore chart for each week. Worked with camp directors and other counselores to ensure the best week for each camper.
