Position Description:

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, clean classrooms and offices of an assigned school during an evening or swing shift, perform minor repair and maintenance and assure security of school during assigned hours. Requirements:

Knowledge of

● Modern cleaning methods including basic methods of cleaning and preserving floors, white boards, carpets, furniture, walls and fixtures, restrooms, showers.

● Cleaning materials, disinfectants and equipment used in custodial work.

● Safety practices and work methods.

● Requirements of maintaining school buildings in a safe, clean and orderly condition. practices and work methods. Ability to

● Learn and use the schedules, procedures and use of custodial tools and supplies.

● Use common cleaning equipment & materials in a safe and efficient manner.

● Observe and report need for maintenance and repair.

● Understand and follow oral and written directions.

● Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

● Meet schedules and timelines.

● Communicate effectively with others.

● Perform heavy manual labor.

● Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Education & Experience:

Any combination equivalent to sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above and one year of general custodial experience.
