SUMMARY
While my professional life has been focused on teaching for the past decade, I spent half of
that period working part time at the Pinehurst Resort serving in their formal dining room.
Being able to cater to the wants and needs of clientele while working at an advanced pace is
an environment that I find enjoyable and have always found great success.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
The Academy of Moore County, Aberdeen, NC
5th Grade ELA/SS/Team Lead 2021-2024
e During this time I served as our 5th Grade Team Lead and as our
representative on the Heads Advisory Council. This council
allowed me to work with the leads of other grade levels to best
find and improve the needs of our students linearly. Our school
focused greatly on data driven assessments and instruction to
continually address student needs as they evolved.
Episcopal Day School, Southern Pines, NC
Fourth Grade- All Subjects 2019 - 2021
e As the sole fourth grade teacher, it was my responsibility to seek
out, develop and implement changes in the curriculum to best
meet the needs of my students. Throughout our remote learning
period, I was able to engage with students personally and
maintain our pace for learning across all subjects.
Pinehurst Elementary School, Pinehurst, NC
Fourth Grade- All Subjects (2 years) Math Lead (2 years) 2013 - 2017
e During my time teaching all subjects, my team and I focused
greatly on teaching with a cross-curricular focus. Through this
we were able to develop many project-based lessons which gave
students the opportunity to show their learning in a variety of
ways.
e After transitioning to a math-only classroom, I was able to
participate in a variety of training both at the county and state
level. I participated in the adjustment of the school’s pacing
guide in order to ensure students have the time needed to
master skills. I also participated in a great amount of vertical
planning in order to find the greatest areas of need across 3rd-
5th grade skills.
