Summary:

As a Clinical Laboratory Scien st (Generalist) I perform rou ne laboratory tes ng as well as basic instrumenta on maintenance and troubleshoo ng and accurately perform rou ne laboratory tes ng in accordance with protocols established.

• Follow any company policies and procedures: General Policies, Quality Control, Exposure Control, Chemical Hazard, Illness and Injury Preven on Program and Quality Assurance Program. Understands the hazards associated with failing to follow those procedures.

• Perform, evaluate, and report all rou ne laboratory tests in chemistry and/or immunology under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scien st and according to established protocols. Strictly adheres to writen procedures.

• Know protocol for handling cri cal values including rerunning tests, review of past results and phoning unit with results. Handle and inves gate complaints, problems, and discrepancies, as needed.

• Apply current scien fic principles to clinical situa ons and demonstrate thorough knowledge of instrument opera on.

Experience and Qualifica ons:

• Data entry in the laboratory informa on systems (LIS).

• Strong Knowledge of accepted clinical laboratory prac ce and procedures including handling of poten ally infec ous material and familiarity with California law rela ng to the prac ce of medical technology.

• Moderate computer skills, good quality control, and instrument maintenance knowledge.

• Analy cal problem-solving skills, proficiency in performing detailed tasks thoroughly and completely, and the ability to follow complicated instruc ons with accuracy.

• Ac ve and Current Clinical Laboratory Scien st license from the State of California.

• Perform data entry into the laboratory informa on system.

• Perform laboratory tes ng for diagnosis and procedures on pa ent samples such as Urinalysis, HBA1C, body fluids analysis, coagula on test, fibrinogen test, and prothrombin me test, hematology test.

• Treatment and monitoring of disease using a variety of advanced instrumenta on.

• Check expira on dates of the reagents and perform manual test in accordance with established protocol.

• Troubleshot/calibrate instrument malfunc on and conduct preven ve maintenance according to manufacturer specifica on as needed.

• Prepare slides for microscopic examina on and differen al analysis.

• Experience managing Sysmex 9100, Sysmex 5100 Coagula on Analyzer and Bio-Rad. Page 2 of 2
