Progressing my career transferring into this role within the company, was a great logistical building point. Daily responsibilities of recording an average of 100 trailers a night across Western Canada and the Territories, and 50+ line haul drivers moving these loads. Having a great geographical mindset, allowed plotting new courses around road closures, avalanches and accidents beneficial. Cost factors were a part of these decisions, as line haul moves consumed 30% of company revenue. Tractor and trailer recovery were also part of the responsibility as required due to accidents and break-downs. During periods where we had no Line Haul Manager, these roles were also taken on to ensure the smooth operation of the department. This also required attending daily conference calls with other management staff. Transferring from this position was only done to move back to the country, and to work in Kelowna, and to build my career in other roles within the company.
