I hold both a Bachelor of Science and a Masters degree in Journalism/News Editorial. While
serving an internship in the mortgage banking industry, I chose to remain in this fascinating
field for several years. I worked with the same company in three different cities and remained
an employee of Imperial Savings until it was closed in 1992. At that time, I adopted a child,
but continued to work in the business by contract underwriting and contract auditing, doing so
until 2002. In 2013, I completed the 60 hours of Basic Appraisal Principles.
I have since developed my own art business for the last 20 years, selling my sketches,
watercolor and acrylic pieces via several sources. I also complete digital photo albums for
customers and sell my handmade journals and photo albums both online and in retail shops. I
volunteer for several entities, some with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. I also work
for Amnesty International, the Southern Poverty Law Center and several animal rights
organizations and am also involved with farm worker and immigration reform support.
