Perform duties of supervising registered Nurse II for nurse scheduling. I coordinate the schedules and positions of all of the nursing staff including RN’s, LVN’s, CNA’s and OT’s. I complete the post and bid process for the nursing staff. I also complete the vacation bid for the nursing staff. I manage the telestaff program for all of the nursing staff. I adhere to the union contractual agreements related to staffing issues. I complete the time off requests for the other SRN II’s. I am the supervisor for the telemed, inside/outside specialty, Utilization Management RN’s. I am the supervisor for the scheduling OT’s and assist with the coordination of all of the medical and nursing appointment for the patient population while maintaining confidentiality. I attend job fares at multiple locations, encouraging new nurses to consider HDSP as a prospective employer. I also conduct interviews for new nursing staff. I complete the orientation schedules for the new employees. I teach BLS classes to employees. I also assist in trauma’s that occur at the institution and triage the patients appropriately. I am a leader in mass casualty events, delegating and prioritizing the care of the patients. I work with people every day, problem solving and dealing with personality issues.

Performed duties as utilization management nurse for prison population. Screen request for services using InterQual database. Provide community hospital utilization review for all inmates who are out to medical in community. Coordinate return of these inmates to appropriate level of care upon discharge.
Work with inside and outside scheduling staff to ensure continuity of care.
Work closely with lead nurse and medical provider in Correctional Treatment Center to anticipate parole, discharge and transfer needs of inpatient inmates. I have also worked in the triage and treatment area and oriented as the lead nurse.
