Bayesian Estimation of directional parameters from Signal Data Jan 2020 – Dec 2024 University of Nevada, Las Vegas Las Vegas, NV
• To address the issue of lack of neighbourhood information in dMRI data analysis, we propose a Bayesian model by creating Spatial Pior for Continuity Estimation (SPACE) applied to three-dimensional whole-brain structure MRI data to perform automatic model selection. These fiber direction estimates are further used as input for resolving fiber crossing problem.
Generalized Model for Simplified dMRI Model Jan 2022 – Dec 2024 University of Nevada Las Vegas Las Vegas, NV
• While the Ball-and-Stick Model (BSM) is a standard approach for fiber direction estimation, its single-fiber limitation restricts its applicability. To address this, we developed a computationally efficient generalized multi-fiber extension of the BSM.
Sampling from Simplex Space Aug 2021 – Jan 2023
University of Nevada Las Vegas Las Vegas, NV
• We develop two novel proposal distributions for Markov Chain Monte Carlo sampling on the simplex. By transforming the simplex into a circular manifold and utilizing the projected gamma distribution, our approach eliminates the sampling inefficiencies caused by tight vertex and edge regions, substantially improving sampler performance.
