I am including this cover letter and resume for consideration of employment at Westhampton Beach Brewing Company. As an IT professional of over 40 years, I feel that I can offer the experience and a variety of qualifications that are listed in the job description for the position of Business Intelligence Developer. My most recent position as database administrator and lead IT support in a small media company has allowed me to expand my database skills, as well as opportunities to provide companywide computer needs and support. I enjoy helping people with computer issues and providing great customer service. For the past 17 years some of my duties have included creating and editing SQL scripts for exporting data lists and reports. Other duties included lead support for MS Office 365, active directory, and a cloud-based magazine subscription management system. I have experience with data cleanup and validation between systems. Worked with web- based reporting systems in creating customer reports from relational databases. I also have experience with creating training materials and conducting customer training courses. Most of these positions require accurate data entry and validation.
Why am I applying for a data entry position? After being laid off at the end of October 2025, I found out the job market is very different than it used to be. Everyone seems to want people certified in a specific application or skill. I’ve applied to over 30 jobs and received 2 replies of rejection, 1 reply of job no longer exists and the rest complete silence.
With my experience in the IT world, I feel that I would be an asset to your team.
