Volunteering

Birthday Box Club: 9th grade

After school program where we create presents and gifts to give away to children in need in nearby communities

●My duties cover making birthday boxes using fun crafts and other useful resources.

●This was a valuable experience for me as it taught me the values of how life can be so different for others and that you should give back in any way you can.

Pass Down the Gown: 10th grade.

This is a community program that organizes clothing (dresses) for girls in need all over the US with a focus on providing accessible and affordable clothing for girls all over America. You can volunteer in the form of donations, charitable events, buying dresses or simply spreading education and awareness about the organization.

●My duties covered spreading awareness and educating peers and the community of this organization. This was achieved by hosting events such as pop-ups, handing out flyers, and collaborating with in-school programs to teach kids in my school about the organization. This not only continued my passion for helping those less fortune and giving back but it also allowed me to feel a strong sense of community with the other volunteers in the program.

The Key Club: 10th Grade

After school program that provides students with several community service opportunities where students can participate in activities that benefit the school environment as well as outside of school.

●My duties covered making decorations, hosting holiday potlucks, bake sales.

●This was great to feel part of the school environment beyond just learning, it broadened by social circle and gave me a great feeling of accomplishment as I was adding value to the school culture and community.
