PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Prolific agile SQL Architect with over 30 years of professional data engineering experience developing on all tiers for large-scale software projects. Pursuing a career with a nimble and exciting organization. Skilled at developing solutions for demanding clients and devoted to the ever-changing nature of data and software development. Delivering the right data to the right people at the right time.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Languages/Tools: MS-SQL, Visual Studio, VS Code, C#, VS VB.NET, and ASP.NET. I am currently investigating Python and Machine Learning. Red-Gate Products – SSMS Tools.

Databases: MS-SQL 6.5 - 2025, Visual FoxPro 3-9

Source Control: GitHub/Bitbucket/SourceTree. JIRA. Frequent Confluence author.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

04/15/24 – 10/24/25 Cody Systems Pottstown, PA

Tasked with developing a migration process to export the existing data from over 300 police departments hosted on Oracle to an Azure-based cloud utilizing MS-SQL and Entity Framework.

Lead Data Engineer – Data Services

The initial effort was begun under Fabric, utilizing Azure Data Factory and Dataflow Gen2 orchestration.

Redirected development to SQL 2022. Coded and implemented the framework for this transformation via SQL 2022. The final project migrated, cleansed, and relationally linked data from 273 tables, utilizing a Raw/Stage/Production naming convention within Azure Cloud, which mimics the initial medallion architecture.

Helped train and oversee two former Oracle programmers' transition to MS SQL. Developed and instituted SQL templates to assist in the transition and standardize the coding standards.

Developed the interface and process to map data from the Oracle tables to the new SQL tables via a dynamic SQL solution.

Inferred relationships via data discovery with the front-end engineers and resolved missing and duplicated data

Used BCP to create spreadsheets to align missing and mapped data points to their new instances since the former system did not enforce relational integrity. The output enabled personnel to map their existing data to the parallel structure in the new solution, with no loss of granularity, while preserving the accuracy of the existing legal data.

Interfaced production changes via external tables to allow for seamless insertion and update operations in a Production environment with minimal downtime.

Utilized GitHub for Source Control, JIRA for task assignment, Confluence for solution documentation, and Zoom for messaging.

The final version of the process would complete data migration and validation within a 6-hour blackout window for most agencies.

CJIS certified 2024/2025

Passed FBI background check

09/05/17 – 04/15/24 Signant Health/Bracket Global Blue Bell, PA

Running this against our largest undocumented database created 7,800 SQL scripts, which were added to the Bitbucket repository, saving over three man-months of manual scripting time.

Created a technique to transfer closed study data from our transactional system and move it to a retired database to free up system resources and reduce costs.

Our data processing strategy evolved from a daily backup-and-restore batch to a real-time upsert pattern, ensuring data is always current and available for analysis, with our data analytics spanning every time zone.

Currently pioneering an effort to implement CDC to speed the data processing mentioned above by a magnitude or more, as well as adding to the concurrency of the data.

Engineering a process to automate the generation of clinical data extracts for our sponsors. This process will help remove the burden currently handled by five full-time data engineers.

Increased the Blinded Data Analytics population from 42 million to over 95 million records generated daily. This data is responsible for over $20m in revenue. Data is cleansed via SSIS packages into Raw, transformed to Staging, and then aggregated to a Snowflake schema Data Warehouse daily.

We are working with the cloud team to add a Snowflake Data Lake to our reporting efforts.

Assisted the DevOps team in transferring all SQL from 2008/2012 code to SQL 2019 across the enterprise. Ours was the first development team to migrate to SQL 2019
