Responsible for Firewall risk remediation and increasing overall security posturing of the Global network. Fortigate and Checkpoint firewall platforms were used to analyze traffic and address overly permissive policies incorporating data from various SIEM tools such as Tufin and Exabeam to verify logs and traffic patterns to build remediation policies. Collaborated with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams such as IT Operations, CISOs, Network Security, Application Security, Firewall Implementation, and various others to comprehensively address specific security requirements and build firewall policies accordingly. Responsible for change creation as well as representation of project Changes at Change Management meetings throughout MRE’s various entities. TEKSystems (STATE FARM INSURANCE): October 2018-August 2020 Firewall Analyst/Engineer: Performed audits of Firewall rules and individual objects following best practices and established methodologies. Also worked directly with State Farm Bank stakeholders to ensure their rule base was remediated per financial regulations. Worked with various cross- functional teams and stakeholders to identify ownership of each firewall policy and ensure sensitive HIPPA traffic was hardened accordingly. Additionally, I utilized Tufin reports and in-house SIEM tools to modify and harden the existing Firewall rule base. Assisted in the development and end-user support of an SQL-based database to transform SF’s annual firewall recertification. Technical Support Engineer: Completed TAC Engineer boot camp in Santa Clara, CA. Provided Tier 2 Enterprise Firewall break-fix support including fault isolation and root cause analysis for Next Gen firewall including advanced LAN and WAN support, general routing and switching analysis, IPSEC Tunnel recovery, and hardware troubleshooting.
