During implementation l was responsible for consortium coordination, providing oversight and technical assistance to ensure quality standardised implementation of programs across all partners. Consortium composition varied based on program and included INGOs, NGOs and private sector players.

financial management of the programs in line with the approved budget by the donor to ensure effective program delivery. This was done through financial forecasting, approval of requests for expenditure from the field offices, reviewing of project expenditure reports periodically and reallocation of funds across budget line with approval from the donor.

Responsible for managing, mentoring, and training staff after identifying areas that required development. This involved motivation of staff as well as performance appraisal for staff on a yearly basis. Team building retreats built close cooperation for project staff.

Review project reports from staff and consolidate into a donor report on a periodic basis based on the donor requirements. Periodic reports included monthly, quarterly, half year, annual and end of project reports. I have experience in reviewing reports from external consultants and monitoring their activities as they will be carrying out their duties.

Coordinate outsourcing of specific tasks that included baseline surveys, midterm project evaluation, end of project evaluation, contracts for rehabilitation of irrigation schemes and other activities that required the procurement of external contractors. This involved the development of terms of reference that clearly outlined the scope of work to be carried out.

experience with various interventions

Organized with the relevant stakeholders Disaster Risk Reduction through planning at village, ward and district level in some District in Zimbabwe. These fed into the provincial and national plan. Programs that l have managed used several early warning systems to creating awareness on impending disasters and how to get assistance from different stakeholders as mitigation measures.

Have designed livelihoods and food security projects implementing the following activities and interventions aimed at improving yields and incomes of farmers, climate smart agriculture, irrigation schemes rehabilitation, gardens construction, conservation farming, participatory market systems development, non-agricultural income generation activities, small livestock support (breed improvement) and agricultural input support.

I have facilitated trainings as well as offering extension and advice to farmers. My qualification as a post-harvest practitioner has increased my scope in offering extension and advice to farmers aimed at increasing incomes.

Assisted vulnerable and marginalized smallholder farmers in developing viable models around farmer to farmer extension. I understand and have been involved in the Zimbabwe farming sector for the past 15 years.

Marketing has been and is a key intervention area for programs that l have designed as farmer households are now engaging in market led production. A participatory approach to marketing, Participatory Market System Development, has been included in program design. This capacitates beneficiaries to identify bottle necks within a particular value chain and come up with actions to resolve the identified problems. After going through the process farmer households are better able to engage high value markets and have improved negotiating skills.

Value addition of both crop and livestock products has also been used as a way of improving incomes for these households after they produce surplus using improved technologies. This has been achieved through improved storage and post-harvest handling of produce which effectively reduces post-harvest losses.

Income generation has also been improved through households engaging in Voluntary Savings and Lending Schemes. The schemes have allowed for farmer households to engage in non-agricultural income generation activities for improved incomes and savings. There has been improved access to finance through this model with household using borrowed funds to start non-agricultural income generating activities. Diversifying income sources for project beneficiaries has increased their adaptive capacities to the changing climatic which in some seasons cannot support meaningful crop and livestock production.

Implemented the Community Led Total Sanitation concept in Zimbabwe’s rural communities.

Borehole drilling and rehabilitation for areas with poor supply of portable water. This included testing of the water sources to determine its safety for human consumption.

Piped water schemes for small urban centers aimed at improving availability of safe portable water and reduce walking distance for women and girls for fetching water by availing tapped water closer to their homes. Boreholes and other water sources were fitted with tanks and solar pumps for pumping water into the tanks.

Natural resource management through conservation works of agricultural land and reducing the indiscriminate cutting down of trees in tobacco producing areas.

Distribution of non-food items during outbreaks of cholera outbreaks in the country. These included buckets, water treatment tablets, soap. Training households on hygiene and proper disposal of waste and human fecal matter to reduce the spread of the disease.

Construction of UBVIPs, BVIP, and water and sanitation facilities.

Community driven sanitation approaches aimed at eliminating open defecation and increase awareness of hygiene and essential basic sanitation services for rural and urban communities.

Health interventions included promotion of community-based home-based care givers by equipping them with training and medical kits for assisting villagers in cases of home based patients. Training growth monitors that identify stunted kids and offer advice on how mothers can feed their kids and refer severe cases to clinics and hospitals. With collaboration from ministry of health through local clinics carry out primary health care outreach for areas that are not serviced by clinics and hospitals.

Child Protection Committees set up at local level to increase awareness on child protection issue in the community and reprimand perpetrators of child rights violators with assistance from police. The Child Protection Committees had impact on reducing violations of child rights especially through the reduction of child marriages. Some religious organizations which did not take children to hospitals have been encouraged to do so through the activities of these child protection committees.

Cash and voucher assistance experience

Experience in distribution of cash and voucher programing including paper vouchers, electronic vouchers, mobile money, cash in transit, use of money transfer service providers that include

These were based on different designs when it comes to conditionality. During Cyclone Idai cash in transit was used and beneficiaries had to perform certain hours of community asset rehabilitation work to be entitled for to receive the cash. Urban programming that l have managed in Harare and other parts of Zimbabwe have been unconditional cash transfers using money transfer agencies.

Market analysis for possibility of using cash to respond to a crisis or a disaster. This involved the analysis of whether local markets within a targeted area can respond to the cash or voucher injection.

Cash has been used to cover the different needs at household level with the widest range of needs was the multipurpose cash transfers. During response to Covid 19 and other disasters cash transfers were used to cover food and nutritional needs of beneficiary households with guidance coming from the Cash Transfer Working Group.

Monitoring of use of cash and access through periodic Post Distribution Monitoring surveys.

Projects that l implemented offered protection services for children, young people, women, and men to avoid cases of abuse as well as misuse of cash entitlements. This was through using referral pathways for victims and survivors of abuse and capacity building of local volunteers to identify and report any cases of abuse.

Set up feedback handling mechanisms at community level which beneficiaries have access to and are free to choose from toll free lines, help desk, suggestion box or office walk ins.
