WORK EXPERIENCE
Hydrogeology Research Assistant
University of Toronto, September 2024 - Present
Key Research Activities:
• Collected and analyzed high-resolution stream discharge data, groundwater level measurements, and both surface and groundwater sampling across multiple locations within the Black Creek watershed.
• Acquired and synthesized hourly and daily precipitation datasets from Toronto municipal weather stations to inform hydrologic modeling.
• Used Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) to delineate watershed boundaries and map key topographic and hydrologic features.
• Delineated rainfall and baseflow-runoff events to support groundwater recharge estimations and hydrologic response modeling.
• Performed time-series analyses of rainfall-runoff and stream-groundwater interactions to assess lag times and connectivity dynamics under varying urban conditions. Environmental Safeguard Specialist and Geologist
CEMMATS Group Limited, February 2017 to September 2023.
• Undertook contractor coordination, borehole drilling supervision, geological logging, well installation and aquifer testing.
• Laise with regulatory authorities and managed environmental permitting and compliance
• Prepared bidding documents and attending bid opening meetings
• Surface and groundwater sampling, and environmental and social impact assessments for major infrastructure projects, mining companies and manufacturing industries in accordance with national regulations and international best practices.
• Carried out socio-economic impacts surveys on project site’s communities using electronic tools like the Kobo-Collect tool.
• Managed resettlement action plans (RAP) for several clients according to national and requisite international regulatory requirements
• Contributed to the development and management of over 160 safe and sustainable sources of water (boreholes) post Ebola and COVID pandemic in Sierra Leone.
Hydrogeologist
Hydro Nova Consulting, Feb 2017 - Nov 2018
• This project was the first national groundwater survey and mapping project carried out in Sierra Leone and produced the first groundwater map of the country. I worked as an in-country representative for HydroNova managing and coordinating project activities, and was mainly involved with the following:
• Laised with regulatory authorities and managed permitting and compliance tracking for the groundwater mapping project.
• Groundwater and surface water sampling and quality assessment
• Undertook contractor coordination, borehole drilling supervision, geological logging, well installation and aquifer testing.
• Co-published a journal titled: “Groundwater potential in Sierra Leone: hydrogeological mapping and preliminary aquifer parameter evaluation” in the Italian Journal of Groundwater - AS25- 330: 41-54, DOI: 10.7343/as-2018- 330
Senior Hydrogeologist
EDAL Drilling Company Limited - March 2016 to January 2017
• Managed and supervised drilling crew, logistics, geophysical survey, borehole drilling, construction and aquifer test projects
• Laise with regulatory authorities and managed environmental permitting and compliance tracking for several mining and infrastructure projects
• Prepared bidding documents and attending bid opening meetings
• Conducted environmental assessment for borehole drilling Project Geologist
London Mining- Marampa Iron Ore Mines - November 2009 to February 2016
• Worked on Hydrogeology projects involving monitoring wells and weirs installation for groundwater and surface water monitoring and mine dewatering projects
• Carried out mineral exploration and grade control activities such as field mapping, drilling supervision, core logging, surface mining supervision, pits mapping and Rompad management. VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE/COMMUNITY SERVICE
