Work on two projects for GA release

Cloud Tier Appliance (CTA) for cross vendor storage platforms. CTA is an application to support file archive and recall features across different platforms and Cloud environment with company’s Perl framework.

‘vC Ops’ is the Storage Analytics Suite (SAS) Virtualization Support from VMware vCenter to EMC VNX family storage servers to explore storage array onto cloud environment. I ran as well as designed test cases to verify the feature of SAS adapter. Pre-test preparation configuration of test space to include vCenter, datastore, SAS and ESX server in integrated test bed.

My task on these projects is to write up test plans and design test cases according to Function Specification and Product Requirement Document. As a team leader, I headed a small team to qualify the feature of products as well as to define test automation requirement and the training requirement for different projects, e.g. web browser automation for the CTA test. I was awarded once by an internal nomination on performance.

Develop test cases to verify fiber channel interoperability in FreeBSD kernel with Multiple-path FC HA configuration support at storage servers. Design and execute test cases for iSCSI and Share supports in home grown FreeNAS/TrueNAS ZFS file system. Automate test client with REST API framework to qualify FreeNAS/TrueNAS system functionalities on Jenkins with Python and shell scripts. Quality Platform Software in Clustered and High-availability NAS Filer with both Black and White Box testing. Develop Perl and UNIX scripts from centralized NATE libraries to automate tests on home grown Operating System (Clustered ONTAP). Implement test suites to qualify new hardware platform and cross-verification with released Clustered ONTAP. Regression on firmware and middleware with new hardware and drivers to certify storage appliance features.

As a team leader, I headed a small team to qualify the feature of products as well as to define test automation requirement and the training requirement for different projects. Support advanced software qualification task by performing Code Coverage Regression run and problem cause analysis on serious issue. Achievement of my work can be measured by deadline commitments in various milestones and releases phases. More than QA testing, I also support Engineering team to run unit test to verify some software module functionalities and assisted on problem root cause analysis.
