I am a well-rounded Certified English Language Arts & Reading Teacher with a minor in Reading (ELAR 8-12). Furthermore, I have I a Master of Science Degree in Generic Special Education with a minor in Reading. In addition, I am ESL Certified. I am currently employed with United Independent School District (UISD) as an English/ESL Teacher; I have recently been given the 15 year pin of employment with the district. However, I have had a diversity of educational and motivational teaching and learning experiences as an employee: 11 years as an English Teacher. 2 years as a Motivational Learning Center (MLC) unit, 1 year as an In-School Suspension Aide (ISS), and 1 year as a Secretary to the Counselors.

I am currently seeking a position for Reading Coordinator candidacy; I am the best candidate for this position due to the variety of my educational and professional background to help serve our teachers and students and close all the learning gaps. As a coordinator I would work and consult hand-in-hand with teachers to facilitate our students learning and comprehension. I am an advocate for “ALL students to motivate and stimulate all our diverse populations because I firmly believe “It takes a village to raise a child.” My motto is that “All children can learn” if taught in accordance to their individualistic needs, so differential instruction should be given in accordance.
