Perform and supervise others in the performance of duties necessary to conduct all phases of field, lab or greenhouse agrichemical research trials in such a manner as to satisfy requirements specified by our clients and appropriate regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency and California Department of Food and Agriculture. Report to Eurofins Research for Hire Management.
Assist in the development or modification of study protocols that will achieve stated objectives or, if protocols are finalized, examine them and help assure that all procedures and specifications are reasonable and clear.
Ensure that sufficient quantities of the correct test substances are received, logged in, stored, used and returned to our clients while maintaining an accurate chain of custody records for their use.
Assist in the selection of suitable commercial cropping test site, or, if research station plots are more suitable, supervise the land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, cultivation and pest control of these test crops.
Survey the test sites, design, layout and mark the test plots in the field while providing adequate identification of each separate treatment plot in relation to each other such that plots can be reconstructed if necessary.
Obtain and file the necessary State of California Research Authorizations, Pesticide Recommendations, Notice of Application Intents and Crop Destruct forms for each field trial conducted.
Calibrate the application equipment, perform material use calculations and measure out the test substances. Assist in the test material application to the test plots.
Supervise the collection of evaluation data at appropriate intervals, record, analyze and present that data in a suitable scientific format.
Train and supervise personnel who assist in performing duties to assure they are done correctly and in accordance with professional standards such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the study protocol.
Assist in scheduling Quality Assurance and other types of inspections of the research studies with our own or the clients’ designated personnel.
Thoroughly document all activities performed in conducting a research trial in such a manner as to satisfy GLP, SOP and protocol requirements.
Compile a final field trial notebook including all ancillary raw data complete with a written summary report, if necessary, that entirely and accurately reflects the trial as conducted in the field.
