Norpalm Ghana Limited (NGL)
As an Electrical Technician at NGL, I am responsible for all daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance of electrical systems, including switchgear, transmission lines, transformers, controls systems and interpreting of drawings to third parties. Responsibilities:
• Perform routine maintenance such as conducting regular inspections, calibrating devices, and ensuring all equipment operates within specified parameters to prevent malfunctions.
• Checking switchgears, electrical panels for loose connections, monitoring transformer
(ASTOR 1250 KVA) oil levels and inspecting bonding systems for safety, repairs to maintain operational efficiency.
• Assembling and installing new parts and modified electrical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls and power systems to specification as instructed.
• Checking the functionality of electrical equipment while in operation and listen for complications using accurate testing and measuring instruments like Fluxmeters, Oscilloscope and Vibration analyzers.
• Worked on BOILERMECH (BMWT 0412) electrical panel.
• Operate Steam Turbine (ELLIOTT GROUP serial number: F 402300) and also assisted in maintenance.
• Performed Root Cause Analysis of failures on electrical equipment during troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge in interpreting electrical drawings specifications to aid in materials selection, process to be used and electrical settings to complete the task effective and efficiency.
• Carry out undercarriage repairs on Heavy Duty Electrical Equipment and overhauled equipment to diagnose malfunctions and ensure operating efficiency.
• Conducted preventive maintenance on electrical equipment – thus Completed electrical checklists for daily, weekly and monthly inspections of plant and machinery.
• Working with PLCs and control systems for maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Repairing mechanical issues, including bearings and damaged components.
• Building control panels and performing machinery repairs.
• Make sure the workshop and power hand tool were well cleaned kept in their respective tool racks.
• As a Lead Hand Electrical Technician, read and interpreted engineering CAD drawings to team mates and ensured all electrical drawings are done with accuracy as in the drawing state.
• Digging trenches and, or climbing poles to repair or maintain underground/overhead electrical cables.
• Installing transmission and distribution lines.
