I have been at Microsoft for over 30 years and in the computer industry since my beginning in a computer retail store in the service department in the 80’s. I have been in management, but really enjoy being an individual contributor. Am very passionate about the work and always love a challenge. In one of my previous positions, I completely automated all aspects of routine maintenance, monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting using Powershell, as well as instrumental in rolling out the entire suite of applications to new regions, including storage accounts, redis cache, security monitoring, event data collection, etc. In my latest role, I was involved in converting the rollout in ADO to Onebranch I become immersed in my position and drive for results. Contract Position to Microsoft Corp: Systems Engineer/Azure Engineering MASP/M365 Office Management: Provide Operational/Engineering support for the M365 worldwide operations team. Work within the team on common goals and priorities. Develop ARM templates to modify deployments, add capabilities and/or security, update components, keyvault and certificate maintenance, Identity maintenance, including AAD, Azure Data Explorer, secrets, etc. Some technologies I have worked with and skills acquired include:

Monitor Office Operations in Azure and perform revives and reimaging/provisioning, incident troubleshooting, availability troubleshooting, patching & security compliance. Provide 24hr on-call support on a rotational basis. Incident root cause analysis, auditing, & reporting. Operations includes maintenance of over 5k servers, weekly global deployments, daily maintenance tasks, monthly patching, assist with development/project requests as needed. Provide guidance to projects based on environmental requirements, technology reviews, and past incidents.

Groove Operations Team/WAC Operations: Provide support for Groove operations utilizing my knowledge and experience in Windows, SQL Server and IIS Administration. Troubleshoot issues, provide maintenance, and manage change into the various systems. Main Accomplishments: Created a UI in Powershell along with all supporting scripts to perform the majority of administrative tasks for the application. Automated through Powershell daily monitoring functions and administrative tasks. Systems Engineer

Many applications were multi-tiered and globally distributed, involving many integrated systems and technologies. Throughout this entire position there was heavy emphasis in SQL Server and IIS administration, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Performed hundreds and hundreds of custom application builds, systems maintenance, analysis, and performance enhancements. My expertise was Integral to the success of many projects in all phases of development. I have been Involved in the support and maintenance of hundreds of custom applications using SQL Server, IIS Server, and .net services over more than 15 years. Accomplishments include: 1.Initiated, performed analysis, and presented to management overwhelming evidence of a projected cost savings of over $1 million dollars over 5 years in overall project budget for a complex, globally distributed application by implementing an admin tool.

2.Saved $1000’s of dollars by designing and implementing a backup strategy in the pre-production environment. Potential savings are much higher.

3.Organized information and documented a complex, multi-server, tenant based content storage and delivery application. It was estimated that during ramp-up for new employees, support personnel, engineers, and management, this saved more than 2 hours per week for each member. 4.Coordinated the task of taking down an environment here in the US and rebuilding in India. This included analysis of the hardware needs, ordering and delivery of new systems, tracking, setup of the new machines, installation of the applications, and finally testing and final release for consumption. 5.Over time was able to convince organization to integrate technology upgrades into the respiratory system of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). This caused all projects to consider the technological changes on the radar when scheduling project phases or application features and we achieved smoother technology upgrades. 6.Reduced downtime for 12+ applications from a lengthy 4 week process down to just 2 weeks while incorporating systems growth by analyzing and reworking existing processes plus documenting and training on new procedures.

Contract Position to Microsoft Corp: Systems Engineer Accomplishments Include:

1.Increased productivity of the test team and saved an estimated $100,000 each month by optimizing the hardware and indexes as well as implemented restart ability to the main SQL job. 2.Improved test team efficiency by implementing a web based informational site that displayed all relevant and important details for the application for that drop.
