BANK OF AMERICA (FORMERLY MBNA), Newark, DE 1998 – 2012 Senior Systems Engineer II
I was originally recruited to install, configure, and maintain HP-UX systems of the former MBNA. This evolved into planning and designing computing solutions for the customers of the IT division and later into designing and building the company’s first SAN network. During the integration of the MBNA systems into the Bank of America network I became the key design engineer for Storage and since then have provided countless solutions for storage computing needs.
Key Contributions:
Instrumental in developing and implementing the storage migrations from Newark, DE to Rich- mond, VA and Wyndham, TX.
Designed and implemented the second generation SAN in the former MBNA.
Designed and documented large scale storage solutions for clients of Storage Build that have ex- ceeded all customer expectations while keeping costs to a minimum.
Managed several technical resources during end-of-lease migrations from older storage environ- ments.
Troubleshoot and resolved numerous performance issues on the various UNIX systems and ap- plications.
STATE OF DELAWARE, OFFICE OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS, Dover, DE 1993 – 1998 Systems Engineer
Designed, installed, managed and maintained several key HP-UX, OS/2, and Windows systems for the Information Technology division under the Governor’s Office and Department of State. Key Contributions:
Installed and configured MS SQL Server to support the Governor’s Office constituent tracking sys- tem. This system was key to acquiring and recording data from the calls received by the Gover- nor’s office staff.
Designed and installed key disk subsystems to support the Department of State’s Division of Cor- porations Imaging system. I also wrote applications that transferred and converted images from an older WANG based imaging system on optical disc platters into the HP-UX based system using a combination of new optical disc and magnetic disc solution. This was done without interruption to daily activities of the Corporations staff.
Managed and maintained several key Oracle database instances on HP-UX.
Created the State’s first highly available cluster to run web services and later another cluster to house the Oracle backed databases.
