I am Currently HOD Ophthalmology Dept. at AL Khobar Health Network (Ophthalmology Service Line-EHC since 2019) and Continuous professional professional development lead since Feb 2024. I also practiced as quality coordinator and Patient safety at Al Khobar Specialist clinics since Aug 2020 to April 2023. I practiced as IRB committee cochair in Khobar Government hospital May 2023 till Dec 2024 then appointed as IRB Chair in Jan 2025,
I had my internship & ophthalmology residency at Cairo University Hospitals & Research Institute of Ophthalmology (RIO) in Egypt from 1996-1999. I practiced as ophthalmology specialist from 2000 till 2007 in Egypt (RIO & Ministry of Agriculture Hospital, NRC, Magrabi outreach programs) as well. I joined Moh in KSA July 2007 where I was CME Supervisor in Khobar Sector (2011-2013) as well as 2017-2018. I am interested and trained in research ethics and applying good clinical practice from MOH.
I 'm experienced in examination, diagnosis & management of various ocular diseases & emergencies (foreign body removal, glaucoma, traumas, surgical emerg.), while referring highly specialized cases to senior consultants for proper management.
I am especially interested in medical retina & investigative ophthalmology i.e., colored fundus photography, fluorescein angiography & optical coherence tomography. I used to perform local anesthesia and surgeries (e.g., cataract, glaucoma, squint& assisted in DCR, vitrectomy, buckling, Snellen, orbital reconstruction) in addition to other minor oculoplastic procedures.
I discussed my PhD thesis in ophthalmology in 2008 in addition to FRCS part 2 in Ophthalmology (Glasgow, UK) in 2011.
I am always seeking excellence and eager for learning to have a distinguished performance in all what I practice while acquiring new skills everyday throughout my practice.
