Profile/Personal Nursing Philosophy

I offer over 27+ years of experience in Adult Critical Cardiac,ICU Care, Geriatric Skilled/Long term/Rehabilitative, Detox, and Psychiatric Professional Nursing. Unencumbered, RN license since, passing the Boards, in 1996.Bachelor's Degree in Nursing 1998.

I believe truly caring nurses, just know instinctively, that nursing is truly a calling; requiring a lifetime of dedication, research, Ethical behaviors, on and off “the clock”. Dr Anne Boykin, PhD., RN *My personal “Theoretically Grounded Philosopher” in Caring-Nursing. Florida Atlantic University (Lynn College of Nsg). Boca Raton, FL.

*Proficient in most all aspects, of Adult-Geriatric, Nursing; specifically,(all Critical Care Units/ICU/CVICU/CVSDU/ER) Cardio-pulmonary, Hemodialysis, Respiratory, GI/GU, Endocrine, with extensive experience with care of brittle Diabetics, post CVA’s, pre-post Hip/limb fractures (all common surgeries), Sepsis, Memory Care, and early onset of impending emergencies. I have extensive experience with totally dependent individuals; I am highly qualified to recognize immediate signs and symptoms of an impending event, and I act very quickly!

I transferred out of hospital nursing, after my first 16+ years, and into sub-acute, dual diagnosis, Medical Detox nursing as a charge RN, for a few years and then, as a Director of Nursing.

My goal is to complete my nursing career as a private/telephonic duty, Advocacy driven, RN.

2022-2024: purposefully unemployed, due to minor cardiac issues, coupled with eldest son enduring emergent, 9 hour Craniotomy/TBI/home Memory, daily care exercises. Numerous MD appointments.

Sold home of 30+ years, 04/2023, to relocate to Central FL. Searching for the best “fit” for myself, and hopeful, Utilization review/via an Insurance Company Network, within the State of FL.

Sept 2021-late Dec 2021, I worked around the clock-in home (hired an LPN/CNA to attend while I rested); with a dear patient suffering from the long term effects of ETOH-ism. Several PCP/Specialist appts., and 2 emergent hospitalizations. I worked daily with patients daughter via cell/FT from Atlanta, GA; ongoing updates with reassurances. Ultimately, the patient, passed peacefully from ESLD, at his condo, with a Hospice Team, I worked closely with Hospice MD/RN. Family arrived in time to be at bedside. Priest called to home per only son’s wishes, for “last rights”.

Reference upon request.

From November 11, 2020, until the end of June 2021, I cared for a precious lady, post CVA. I met her with her daughter, and assisted nty patient out of the car, in an electric wheelchair; very weak and fragile. Seven months later, I am happy to report she is walking with a cane, cooking dinner, attending to her plants, etc., and is totally independent with all activities of daily living! We worked fervently together, daily with a great routine, incorporating ROM exercises, medication education, memory exercises, etc. Happy to discuss if invited for an interview .However, I am very strict about privacy and of course HIPAA laws!

*Reference upon request

Prior, I worked in a Skilled/long-term, and Rehabilitative nursing facility for 10 months, to

“better understand the disabled/and or Elderly population(s). Charge RN-floated to different units daily! Case load 20-28 patients 12/2019-08/20/2020 COVID RN Day shift All FBI, Level 2 background/drug tests completed and 100% clear. (Documentation available as needed); Last background conducted July 2021. After 8 months, I resigned

(per above) immediately, due to unsafe COVID-19 practices, I observed and reported to the DON and administrator. Later, “unfairly dismissed”. Did Not persue legal action. Thankfully, Negative for COVID-19, approximately 12 times, from the time of the outbreak, to my resignation.

Vaccinated in mid April 2020; per protocol. Documentation available. Additionally, I am extremely strict and mindful of continual SAFE practices, as mandated by the CDC, and my own ethics and responsibilities to the people I come into contact with! I pride myself in altruistic, and highly ethical care of all patients, as mandated by the Nurse Practice Act, DCF, JC, SAMHSA, and of course my own highly ethical and caring framework!

In summary, I would like to realize my ongoing (#1 Goal) and aspirations,of caring for one special critical needs-person, and the family, and hopefully, ease any angst, felt by my patient, and their loved ones!

Extremely open, and goal driven, to become a part of advocacy, via Triage and or, Utilization review/Insurance, as per above. Ready to work by 9/01/2024. Personally. I have experienced caring for my spouse after a horrific, cervical accident, in 2003, and our hoe became a “Rehab mini-care home” for my beloved spouse, of 46 years. My #2 goal for your loved one is to continually improve their quality of daily living, ongoing nursing education, implementation of any MD orders, and have a “Nursing plan of care” tailored to address chronic or acute disease processes. I respect all persons' rights, to their own individualities, “right to refuse”, and believe in a

“team/family approach” as appropriate. Proper nutrition, sleep, fresh air/exercise (as tolerated) is extremely important, along with companionship and activities the patient enjoys! Of course I realize there are patients that require extra rest, during the day! Balance is key with a plan of care always, tailored for each unique individual! There is nothing I love more than to listen to my patient’s, stories/reminiscing, and sharing, as appropriate.

I treat every patient with the utmost respect, and render tender care! I greatly respect one’s individuality and dignity! I am very patient, extremely empathetic, honest, and dependable.
