Position: Site Superintendent

I started with this company as a Labourer and approximately 4-5 years later

became a Construction Supervisor. I have maintained this position to the

present time. I was responsible for overseeing the building of homes from

reading the grading plans to ordering windows, stairs and steel; calculating

the cuts of the garage; organizing the colour charts; and overseeing the

completion of the homes both inside and out. I called in for inspections

with the Building Department in whatever municipality the construction site

was located for the inspection of the houses, from the footings to the final

occupancy (for every stage). I undertook the responsibility of making sure

the tradesmen did a complete and accurate job and, when possible, resolved

any problems and/or disputes which arose. I was responsible for making sure

all the homes closed on the scheduled closing dates, even when delays

occurred due to circumstances beyond my control. I dealt with future

homeowners of all kinds and have always been courteous. I also did the

pre-delivery inspections with the homeowners. I took care of the first

service checklist to make sure the service was taken care of and then made

sure the list was signed off. I have worked under extreme pressure and with

no assistance and have always come through with the closings.

I supervised the building of townhouses at Woodbine and Sixteenth. I was

responsible for building these homes from the foundation to the finishing

stages and then ultimate occupancy. I maintained the site in a

well-organized manner and scheduled the trades accordingly. I also

maintained a good relationship with the Ministry of Labour and building

inspectors.

I built homes ranging from 2200 to 3600 square feet on Bathurst and Canyon

Hill in Richmond Hill. I built these homes from the foundation up to

occupancy. I was responsible for organizing the work being done by the

tradesmen and ensuring that the work was done properly. I made certain that

the homes were built according to the Ontario Building Code and had a good

rapport with the building and safety inspectors. I also maintained the

working site in a neat and organized manner.

When I began this position, I worked at a construction site in Brampton

called Edgecastle at Mayfield and Goreway. This site was commenced by

another Site Superintendent and I took up where he left off. I completed

building these homes, ranging from 2000 to 5000 square feet, two-storeys and

bungalows, with walk-outs. The next site I commenced was called Discovery

III, also in Brampton, Heartlake Road and Sandalwood. These homes were

townhouses ranging from 1100 to 2100 square feet. I built 187 town homes in

10 months. The homeowners were happy as these homes were very well

constructed. My next project was in Toronto, Dufferin and Wilson, amongst

other existing residential dwellings. Bombardier was also located at this

site so road restrictions and maintenance were essential. This site was

called Avvro Summerlyn. These homes ranged from 2400 to 3600 square feet.

I was responsible for building this site from excavation to occupancy,

without a finishing super. I maintained order with the tradesmen and

conducted all inspections, from the footing stage to the final stage. 57

homes were built on this site and praise was given to Senator from both the

homeowners and Bombardier for the workmanship and upkeep of the subdivision.

I supervised the building of homes in both Newmarket (Walker Farm) and Ajax

(Summerset). I performed the same tasks at these subdivisions as noted

above. The types of homes were single, bungalows and town homes. I have

also supervised the landscaping and placement of curbs involved in the final

completion of the phases for both sites. Again, I worked well with the

trades, the inspectors and other employees responsible in the development of

these homes.

From December to mid-June, I took over the completion of the job site at

Thornhill Estates, and for the period commencing the end of June 2010 to

July 2012, I was responsible, from commencement to completion, for the

closing of 211 semis at the Castlemore Crossings project in Brampton. The

closings were all completed successfully and satisfactorily.

September 4, 2012 to present I was the Site Supervisor from commencement to

completion at the site Bishop's Gate (Woodbine Avenue By-Pass and Elgin

Mills Road) in Markham, Ontario. I was responsible for building 197 semis,

singles and towns at a fast pace with excellent workmanship. Purchasers

were all very satisfied with the finished product and no conciliations were

filed. I also took care of the assumption responsibilities of the

subdivision.

opportunity to build homes on a large scale. I commenced the construction

from foundation up of 182 houses, both singles and slab on grade townhomes

back to back. Unfortunately, I got the basements out of the ground and was

then laid off as it was cost effective for them.
