Facility Maintenance Manager

Maintain and support the assets within the company to keep them at or above normal productivity and efficiency. Lead the teams responsible with example and training to provide craftsmanship, ownership and cost reduction while advancing the company to the next level.

• LEADERSHIP: Developed a Preventive/Corrective action system which increased the reliability of 75 units. Communications regarding problem units were vastly improved. Worked with facility leadership to improve safety standards by removing barriers to electrical access panels and identifying pedestrian walkways and exits.

• COST SAVER: Worked with teams and Accounts Payable to develop a better inventory system and reduce costs. Promote the installation of LED lighting to improve cost and safety.

• INITIATIVE: Took action to replace High Pressure Sodium lighting with fluorescent lighting to improve efficiency and safety. Voluntarily participated in company capital expenditure projects to develop improvements. Worked closely with contractors and staff to complete the projects with minimal or no impact to facility productivity.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• 6 months after starting, I worked with inside-outside resources to update OPTO conveyor control system to an Allen Bradley PLC system.

• Integral part of project with leadership and expertise setting up 250K ft facility.

• I was the main contact for the company with construction contractors regarding a 150K ft. expansion project totaling 350K ft.

• Coordinated with outside resources to upgrade interior lighting from High Pressure Sodium to LED to minimize repair and energy costs.

• Expanded 2 Operational and 3 Maint. Sec. & Jan. to 3 & 4 shifts 24/7

• During a bad storm-6:30 a.m., Main transformer caught fire. Power shut off to facility. With inside-outside resources, we brought in generators and had the entire facility back up and tested by 7 p.m. same day. We lost only one Ops shift. Barry Johnston 817-***-****
