Technical Supervisory Engineering Administration responsibilities in leading and supervising 12 GS, 16 MIL and 7 CTR personnel that are employed in SWRMC Engineering Department Codes 205A are to ensure there is always an organized, clear concise communication verbally and written to ensure employees fully understand and achieve daily taskings IAW Policy, Processes that have been established for all administration memorandums, reports, letters, certifications, awards, appraisals, that are initiated, and eventually submitted to Executive Leadership for approval.
Collaboration with outside entities must be maintained on a daily, weekly interface with Travel Department during approving travel requests for employees in the Defense Travel System (DTS). Physical meetings, Zoom and Teams meetings are attended, approving departmental parts/supply/ maintenance contract invoices, opening/closing Formal and Controlled Work Packages for work commencement and closeout, and understanding the use and functionality of the Microsoft 365 software suite, Share Point, Flank Speed, Way Points, MyBiz (Appraisal System), and other government software programs to accomplish tasks assigned are other key responsibilities of this position.
Responsibilities include: works closely with the Engineering Deputy and Command Finance Department to maintain departmental budget and communications for transparency of of spending allocations. Initiates, creates, collects and tracks information working with Division Heads (7) within the Engineering Department on the Annual FYXX Overhead Non-Labor Zero Based Budget (ZBB).
Responsible to ensure the administrative staff deliverables are technically compliant and employees work with a “Sense of Urgency” and “Organizational “Awareness” to provide deliverables.
Maintain oversight to ensure all Fleet non-conformance requests do not reflect negative when it may affect Certification Reports, or Operational readiness reports.
Technical Supervisor of Joint Oil Analysis Test and Material Test Lab responsibilities include intake of samples from ships, squadrons, ground units, and SWRMC productions shops, and Maintenance Teams.
Oversees the Material test and analysis shop. Testing of materials for physical properties by using one of the following resources: Quant-X XRF Spectrometer, Spectro OES Metal Analyzer, Atom Scan 25 ICAP Spectrometer, Delta XRF Portable Metal Analyzer, DoS Probe and ASTM G-67 testing. The Team provide reports to applicable stakeholders as applicable.
Manage/Supervise the operation of the SISCAL/METCAL (Fleet Gage Calibration) Programs. Ships will submit issues requiring technical assistance, capabilities are 98% effective provided by SISCAL/METCAL Technicians assisting ships force in troubleshooting, identifying the root cause and providing and correcting the issue.
Manages production of the 2M/MTR and Fiber Optic Repair and Certification/Re-certification shop savings thousands of dollars on a annual basis keeping sailors trained and certified. FY24 the Pacific Fleet money savings was reported at $5.3M due to training, assessments certifications/recertifications that the oversight of shop provided throughout the year.
Professional, As the Primary Program Manager for incoming Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA) request for Department, responsible for the screening of each request for technical compliance, and brokering based on capacity, capabilities of the Maintenance Center.
Other duties include Coordinates training, diffuses controversial situations regarding urgent/emergent requests, provides problem solving solutions to stakeholders from repeating issues. Created an internal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all Subject Matter, Technical Matter Experts, Port Engineers and other stakeholders to use as a guide on how to process a request, maintains communications with Pacific Fleet Type Commanders (TYCOMs), liaison with Naval Shipyards, private contractors, ISIC, NAVSEA and other pertinent stake holders as required, Writes employees Evaluations, IDPs, Approves Leave, Timesheets, OT, Counsels, Mentors, Hires, Recommends Dismissal of employee.
