Job History

40 Years’ experience in the construction industry, for the last 35 years all positions were in decision making roles, prior assignments were as either, Construction Manager, Site Manager, Startup manager, PM. All positions focused providing a safe conclusion to the project for both the work force, equipment, and the environment. Adherence to industry standards, schedule maintenance and cost control were daily endeavours.

November 2023 to February 2024 RWE

Construction manager for installation of 200 MW Substation and High Yard in Bakersfield California for a BESS and 1300-acre solar plant.

July 2023 to September 2023 Cabot Industries

Construction manager for the Installation of oxidizer for carbon black exhaust from existing process line Ville Platte Louisiana.

March 2023 to June 2023 Wellhead Electric

Construction Manager for 70MW battery storage project in Anaheim California. Installed piles for both battery cubicles and sound wall. Installed MV, fire protection and fibre conduits. Installed new MV breakers for additional power input to existing plant.

Construction Manager for Battery Enhancement Manufacturing Facility in Moses Lake Washington

Construction Manager for 18 reciprocating gas fired engines in Montana.

Project Manager for the relocation of two GE frame 6 gas turbines. Completed the installation of the plant foundations. Contract negotiations, schedule development and administration.

June 2020 to Sept 2020 Dominion Energy

Construction Manager for new Solar Construction Projects. Worked in Virginia, and South Carolina on Nextracker 200 MW, ATI 200 MW, and FTCC systems 12 MW.

Director of Sales Mexico,

Responsible for securing maintenance contracts for the power industry, maintaining customer contact, writing proposals, and follow up site visits.

February 2018 – November 2018 Rengen Mexico City

Project Director for 400-million-dollar new power plant construction with site refurbishment project. New Siemens GT, HRSG, replacement of existing Steam Turbine. Refurbishment of Alstom GT 11 units, repair of cooling tower, additional boiler feedwater pump, numerous smaller improvements. Successfully negotiated all major supply, equipment and engineering contracts and off take contract. Project shelved due to lack of funding.

June 2015 – September 2017 Shanahan Engineering

Site Manager responsible for a 30 million dollar,180 MW project consisting of gas fuel conversion, controls retrofit, water injection, unit overhaul and gen rotor rewind for 3 Pratt & Whitney FT4 gas turbines at Alliant Energy – Sutherland station.

April 2015 – June 2015 Shanahan Engineering

Site Manager responsible for two installations of Siemens SGT500 Mobil units. Project Included all tie ins for high voltage integration, gas fuel start assists, and air compressor system at Vizcaino and Santa Roselia Baja California for CFE Mexico

January 2015 – April 2015 Shanahan Engineering

Head honcho for construction completion, new control integration, completion of 138/13.8 KV high yard construction and plant completion and commissioning of relocated Siemens 501 GT.

September 2013 – November 2014 Quiwan Group

Project Director for new 750 MW combined power plant in Kurdistan. Responsible for equipment selection, subcontractor contract negotiations, off take contract negotiations. Project sold prior to implementation.

February 2013 – September 2013 Alghanim Industries

Pre-commissioning engineer for construction completion thru steam blows for a 400 MW Siemens combined cycle expansion, with two 200 MW ST, 5 new HRSG’s, two new saltwater cooling towers, sea water intake, cooling water blow down systems, demineralized water plant and storage. Included new control rooms and control system integration.

June 2012 – November 2012 TTS (Turbine Technology Services)

Site manager for the Installation of 4 relocated Westinghouse 501 gas turbines, complete unit refurbishment, auxiliary repair, dual fuel conversion, new controls, green field site.

Completed construction for infrastructure of two 50 Acre subdivisions in Dickenson Texas including sewer, water, storm sewer, bulkheads, SWPPs well as streets.

Responsible for the relocation and CMU’s (Conversion Modifications & Upgrades) on over 65 Gas turbines. In many cases was responsible for the sale as well as the negotiation and implementation of the project.

Start-up engineer, commissioning engineer, responsible for over 50 new unit start-up and numerous control system and excitation system tuning. Spent 5 years overseas in Venezuela, Caribbean, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Egypt etc.
