I founded River Rat Consulting to facilitate consultation between state agencies and Tribal Nations. For example, I worked with Tribal Nations to provide background material for the exhibit “Indigenous Wonders of the World” at the Ohio History Connection As Director, I oversaw a diverse portfolio of program areas, including repatriation, language preservation and education, cultural instruction for tribal members, the tribal library, the tribal museum, and historic preservation. I managed three repatriations and reburials in the Delaware Nation’s ancestral homeland. A citizen of the Delaware Nation, I am a cultural anthropologist specializing in Native American museum collections and cultural resources management. With a deep commitment to the respectful stewardship of Indigenous heritage, I support the collaborative efforts of Tribal Nations and academic institutions to ensure the ethical repatriation of ancestral remains and cultural items. Since 2021, I have facilitated repatriation of 1,558 ancestors and 5,271 funerary objects and completed 9 Notices of Inventory Completion and 7 Notices of Intent to Repatriate.

As OHC’s NAGPRA Specialist, I oversaw the repatriation of ancestors to Tribal Nations and managed grants, from application to close-out, for numerous projects. In just 4 years, I helped repatriate ancestors and funerary objects to the Shawnee Tribe, Miami Nation, and Chickasaw Nation.
