I came across your job listing for the General Farm Worker position. I believe that I could prove to be an excellent fit for this job for many reasons. I'm familiar with what it takes to be successful as a General Farm Worker due to the experience that I've gained growing up in the Philippines. I'm reliable and always willing to step up when shifts need to be covered. My interest in farming and associated work stems from my childhood, much of which I spent growing up in the countryside. Now, I would like to give back to nature which has been a vital part of my growing up years.
My knowledge also includes planting and harvesting crops. I am familiar with the ideal planting times for the different types of crops and I also have knowledge mixing fertilizers and preparing insecticide solutions to help yield more crops.
I have some knowledge working and caring for livestock and my duties included cleaning stalls, feeding and checking the health of the animals. I am physically fit and able to handle the duties associated with this job and to work long hours in all types of weather. In addition, I am a physically strong individual, who has the capacity to perform challenging work processes.
A few of the aspects in which I excel include:
• Perform duties such as tilling the soil, applying fertilizer and pesticides, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning, picking, cutting, cleaning, sorting, packing, processing, and handling harvested products.
• Perform and execute the setting up, operation, and repair of farm machineries and equipment.
• Determine how to raise crops or livestock.
• Adapt duties to the seasons, weather conditions, or a crop’s growing cycle.
• Perform or assist in performing breeding activities of farm animals.
• Maintain or assist in the maintenance of facilities and farm infrastructure including cleaning stables, barns and barnyards.
• Plant, cultivate and harvest various crops such as vegetables, fruits and horticultural specialties and field crops.
