Experience

Research Associate 5 Civil & Env. Engineering Dept. at LSU & LTRC, LA May 2024 – Present

Project Leadership & Management: Serve as Co-Principal Investigator for funded research projects focusing on the evaluation of asphalt binders and the enhancement of mechanical properties of asphalt mixtures with sustainable materials.

Proposal & Report Development: Actively assist in securing project funding and lead the development of comprehensive proposals, technical reports, and scientific publications.

Technical Guidance: Provide technical supervision and mentorship to graduate-level research assistants (M.S. and Ph.D. candidates), guiding them on research design, data analysis, and technical writing.

Data Analysis & Modeling: Develop and apply mathematical and statistical models for transportation materials analysis, including life cycle assessments (LCA) and pavement performance prediction.

Equipment & Software Management: Maintain and operate advanced materials testing equipment and develop custom software for data analysis.

Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant Civil and Environmental Engineering Dep., LSU August 2020 – May 2024

Roadway Design & Pavement Engineering: Conducted extensive research on asphalt binder rheology, asphalt mixture characterization (including high-density, rutting, fatigue, and low-temperature cracking), and sustainable pavement solutions using reclaimed materials.

Software & Data Modeling: Gained hands-on experience in roadway pavement design and modeling using AASHTOWare Pavement ME Software.

Technical & Academic Instruction: Served as a teaching assistant and lab instructor, providing technical guidance on civil engineering principles and experimental procedures to undergraduate students.

Technical Writing: Authored and co-authored a Ph.D. dissertation and an M.S. thesis, as well as numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers on pavement management systems, cost analysis, and non-destructive testing.

Teaching Assistant Civil Engineering Department, Mansoura University, Egypt 2016 – 2020
